38D Bras

MORE INFO

38D Bras Built for Everyday Support

Size 38D is one of the most widely worn bra sizes in the United States, and Wacoal's 38D collection reflects that with more than 250 styles, each designed to support this size. Our bras include a wider band that carries most of the support in this size, so every 38D style here is constructed with firm band tension and cushioned straps that hold their position through the day.

Whether you need a smooth layer under workwear, a wire free option for travel and weekends, or structured support for activity, our 38D range covers it. Each style is made to Wacoal's fit standards, so a 38D in one style fits like a 38D in the next.

Popular 38D Bra Styles Include:

Questions About 38D Bras

What does 38D mean?

The 38 is your band measurement in inches, taken snugly around your ribcage just under the bust. The D is the cup, which reflects roughly a four inch difference between your bust measurement and your band.

What are the sister sizes to 38D?

The closest sister sizes are 36DD (one band down, one cup up) and 40C (one band up, one cup down). If your 38D cups fit but the band rides up at the back, try 36DD.

What is the difference between 38D and 38DD?

Although the band is identical, a 38DD holds roughly one additional inch of cup volume. If your 38D cup gaps at the top edge, size down the cup; if tissue spills over the top or sides, move up to 38DD.

How do I know my 38D is fitting correctly?

The band should sit level across your back and stay in place when you raise your arms, and the cup should fully contain breast tissue without gapping or spilling over the top. Our Bra Fit Calculator walks through each check.
